Amazing 3200-megapixel digital camera Lsst
A California laboratory has developed a camera that can accurately photograph a golf ball 15 miles away. After researching for seven years, they created an Amazing 3200-megapixel digital camera lsst.
The 3200-megapixel camera was developed by scientists at the US SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Recently, scientists published pictures and information about the camera made in a laboratory in California. They claim that this is the biggest digital camera in the world. The camera is named LSST.
The scientists said that although the camera was not turned on, all the equipment was installed. The 2800 kg camera will have 199 sensors.
But the camera will not be used to take any ordinary pictures, only to take three-dimensional pictures of the night sky. The camera will sit at the Rubin Observatory on the Cerro Pachon mountain in Chile. At the end of this year, experimental photos will be taken with the camera. If all goes well, it will be fully operational in May 2023. The Rubin Observatory plans to use the camera to make a documentary on space.
Recently, several images of space from the James Webb Space Telescope caused a stir. But scientists hope LSST can take a broader view than James Webb. This camera will be able to take pictures seven times the size of the moon every 15 seconds.
